So after 22 hours of driving..we arrive last evening at 7 pm...pull up to the entrance to the park..and the ranger tells us there are no more camp sites available...uh oh..no more campsites?
Plan B ..There is a state park just a few miles away..while initially disappointing we rallied and made the best of it..campsite has awesome views and a shower house..which Nate used already after his run..(good job right Mr. Luck? )
Had sausages onions and peppers for dinner and dry salad because there was no salad dressing..Christian found some spices I had packed..decided to spruce up the salad..with the"back of the yard" grillling spice blend for meats...proved to be very interesting..and a little heavy on the pepper...
Bed came early..around 10:30 pm..there was very little squirming around..even Zach was asleep in about 2.6 minutes..a new record..Sleeping under the stars..in North Dakota its amazing..a little cool..light breeze..no humidity..a few chirping crickets. A piece of heaven here..and we love it..
Ok..I admit there were a few panicked moments when we were followed into our tent by a very large and meaty beetle that Nate described so well in the previous post..
